If you’ve followed my watch writing for any amount of time, you know that I’ve spilled plenty of digital ink singing the praises of the Jazzmaster lineup from Hamilton. What you may not be aware of is that I’m also quite a fan of The Dark Knight. While this latest Jazzmaster isn’t really a Batman-licensed product, it’s the first reference I thought of when I heard the name.

That name, of course, is the Jazzmaster Face 2 Face. Rather than being some hideously scarred guy (Two Face) that decides your fate with a flip of the coin, though, the Jazzmaster allows you to change the look of your watch with just a flip of the case – you have your choice of a more classically-styled three-hander, or a sportier chronograph.

Now, I’ve played around with watches that have two movements in them before (See here), so I was a bit curious as to how Hamilton Watches 38mm Replica Orologihandled the reversing, especially as one of the movements is a chronograph (with it’s attendant pushers). You really should watch the video, but I can easily describe it – the pivot points are at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock.

This means the chrono pushers on the external case stay in place, and only mate to the recessed pushers (like you may have used to set a day or date function on a watch) when the chronograph dial is facing upwards. This means, of course, you functionally have two watches within the slightly oval case (53mm by 44mm), allowing for tracking of two time zones, or just a change in style.

The crystals also play into the changing style – the classic side features a clear sapphire crystal, while the chronograph one has a bit of a smoky tint to it. Regardless of which side is up, you’ll see the skeletonized rotor of the opposing movement. Frankly, I like watching a movement at work, and this is a fun way to both tell the time and see a movement working, without taking the watch off of your wrist.

Oh, and those movements aren’t any slouches either – the chronograph is driven by the ETA 2094, and the classic face is driven by an ETA 2671. In other words, some quality Swiss movements are tucked away tidily into this case. I think that this is certainly a fun idea. Many times there are larger cases that have a lot of empty space in them. With the Face 2 Face, they’ve just made a little more space, and made interesting use of the space afforded.

OF course, when you factor in the limited-edition nature of the watch (only 888 pieces), and the fact that you’ve got two ETA movements inside, it’s not much of a shock to hear that pricing is firmly in luxury territory: 6195 USD / 4900 € / 5900 CHF. Still, for that sort of coin, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more visually interesting (and no doubt fun to play with) watch to place on your wrist.

Pre-Baselworld 2016: Hamilton Novelties – A Number of Different Genres In One Go

In the last few weeks, Hamilton Watches X Patrol Replica Orologihas been introducing a few of their new models for 2016. I was quite smitten with two of them. In this article, I shall rank them based on my favorite to the least.

My current favorite from Hamilton Watches Lebanon Replica Orologiwould have to be the Hamilton Khaki Navy Frogman. This model is actually a refresh of the original Khaki Navy Frogman Hamilton of the 1940s. This watch was also the first Hamilton model to be featured in a Hollywood movie, The Frogmen in 1951.

Powered by the H-10 automatic Calibre with 80 hours of power reserve (based on the ETA/Tissot Powermatic 80 Calibre), it has professional diving watch capabilities. Incorporating a Helium Escape Valve (or HEV), this watch is capable of mix gas deep diving with a water rating of 1,000 meters. The bulky crown guard and bright red bezel are cool features on this watch.

If you can’t handle a 46 mm sized watch, Hamilton Watches Hamilton Fic Replica Orologioffers a smaller scale version at just 42 mm in both black or blue, dial and bezel combination. There are also a bracelet and strap options. These models are made from 316L stainless steel and do not have the HEV mechanism. The water rating is also limited to just 300 meters. For the colour option, I love the blue bracelet version.

This next piece I like is the Jazzmaster Open Heart Lady. I know it is defined as a ladies watch but it has a design that is more unisex in my opinion. The way the dial is cut to reveal part of the internals is unique and quite refreshing. Three of the 12 petals on the mother-of-pearl lotus flower on the silver dial have been cut through to show parts of the H-10 automatic movement. Moreover, the four compass points on the dial are indexed with silver markers which give it a real zen-like effect.

The next new model series is the Hamilton Broadway Day Date range. There are three versions of this series and my choice is the automatic day date option. All three versions come with either bracelet or leather options.

Measuring 42 mm across, and powered by the H-30 automatic calibre with 80 hours of power reserve, the day and date apertures are located at the 6 o’clock position. This kind of symmetry is what I look out for in watches.

The quartz version also has a day and date functions but located at the 3 o’clock position. It is also the smallest of the Hamilton Broadway at just 40 mm wide.

The final Hamilton Broadway is the automatic chronograph version which uses the H-21 automatic Calibre. This Calibre has a power reserve of 60 hours. This version is also the widest at 43 mm.

Out of the three Hamilton Watches Quartz Replica OrologiBroadway, I find the chronograph the least exciting because of the polished bezel. Based on experience, a polished bezel is a magnet for scratches and it distracts one’s focus away from the dial. A brushed bezel would be more apt for this version.

This next piece is the Hamilton Watches Elvis Replica OrologiJazzmaster Thinline Gold. It is believed to be one of the few solid gold watches to be issued by Hamilton throughout the history of the brand.

A definite dress watch, it measures 40 mm across and made of 18k pink gold. It has a very clean cream dial. The indexes and hands are also gold. The placement of the date aperture at the 6 o’clock position makes it symmetrical and balanced.

As the name suggest, this is a thin watch while eliminates the use of the thicker H-10 Calibre. Instead, it is powered by the automatic ETA 2892-2.

By virtue of the gold material used, this watch would be the most expensive relative to the rest. However, from a technological point of view, it is rather basic.

For the ladies, another option to consider is the Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer Lady. This is a 36 mm automatic version that comes in two models, a stainless steel version and a rose gold coated version. My pick would be the stainless steel version with flame-blued hand. It contrasts remarkable well with the white dial of the watch.

Finally, the last offering is the latest version of the Hamilton RailRoad Lady. Two options are now available with champagne dial. The 32 mm version comes with automatic movement and the 28 mm version comes with quartz engine. Only the 32 mm version comes with a date window. Both have bracelet and leather strap options available. Above is a photo of the 28 mm version. I am not keen on this particular line due to size and use of precious stones on the dial.

As highlighted earlier, the 46 mm Hamilton Watches Amazon Replica OrologiKhaki Navy Frogman is my favorite as a sports watch. For a dress watch, I prefer Jazzmaster Open Heart Lady.

Pre-Baselworld 2017: Hamilton Intra-Matic 68 Chronograph Watch

The brand’s history is very interesting particularly the release of the 1968 Hamilton Chronograph B alongside the Hamilton Chronograph A which now serves as the inspiration for the new Hamilton Intra-Matic 68, vintage with a contemporary twist chronograph.

Looking at the main design, I can’t help but notice that Hamilton took good care preserving the elements of many 1960s and 1970s chronographs particularly the 1968 Chronograph B and the automatic movement with date of the Chrono-Matic versions. We see the same 42mm stainless steel case design which is very clean and sharply polished with the typical narrow bezel and classic pump pushers to boot. The pointy lugs are also vintage which for me are rather nice and cool. Throw in a sapphire crystal on the watch face with a screwed down crown and we have a 100m water resistant chronograph, lovely.

As for the dial of the new Hamilton Intra-Matic 68, the “reversed panda” layout stands out. This is a tribute to vintage chronographs although one notable change is the addition of a white tachymeter scale inside the periphery. If you happen to be familiar with some vintage Hamilton chronographs, the date is usually integrated at the 6 o’clock, this is perhaps to satisfy tradition but to me it is a pleasant design choice. Adding value is the curved design of the dial and hands which is typical of high end watches. The automotive appeal is undeniably strong specially with the chronographs at 9 and 3 o’clock. The white on black styling is superb on the new Hamilton Intra-Matic 68, I like it.

The Hamilton Intra-Matic 68 Chronograph is powered by the automatic Hamilton automatic H–31 calibre sporting 60 hours of power reserve. Being based on the Valjoux 7753 (with the 3–6–9 or 3–9 layout that normally comes with 48 hours), the movement is greatly improved with the addition of enhanced spiral for better chronometric results. This reliable movement superbly runs the bi-register chronograph with date, hours, minutes, and small second with ease.

Moreover, the Hamilton Watches The Musical Fanfic Replica OrologiIntra-Matic 68 Chronograph comes with a vintage perforated leather strap. This reminds me of a classic automobile’s air intake grille which is great. Function-wise, I hope it adds comfort since breathability of any strap is always welcome plus what’s the use of being perforated if not for this, well this is just my two cents.

Elvis Presley was instrumental in my love for Rock & Roll. I got all his albums (actually it was my dad but technically it’s mine) and have seen all of his movies. When he died back in 1977, I was just young lad of 7 years and it was the first saddest day of my life that I can still recall. His legacy still reigns supreme. The polished hour and minute hands are treated with Super-LumiNova paint. All of this is protected by sapphire crystal with non-reflective coating. Although not mentioned by news reports or any other pictures, I suspect the case-back is also transparent and protected by sapphire crystal.

The engine that powers this watch would be Hamilton’s H-10 movement. With a double main spring barrel, it is capable of sustaining 80 hours of power reserve. Meanwhile, the winding crown has an engraved pattern.

The watch comes with a unique rubber strap due to the triangular shape of the watch case. Hamilton Watch Company also highlighted that a quartz version with a stainless steel case and available on leather, rubber, or steel bracelet will also be made available.

This was has nothing extra or special apart from the unique design and tie-in with the great Elvis Presley. It just tells the time and the date. However, what this watch has is style. The panache that sums what Elvis Presley is all about. This latest offering by Hamilton has made me reprioritized my wants. I want this one!!!
